Sorry for the rant, but I've read many threads here and elsewhere about all the "Gingerbread problems". I think that's giving Google a bad reputation.

Most of the problems, especially on the X, are BLUR problems not Gingerbread. Most of the reported bugs for the X on the bug tracker are not Gingerbread problems and are referred back to Motorola.

In other words the incompetent developers at Motorola are giving Google and Gingerbread a bad reputation because of BLUR.

Don't get me wrong there are a couple of issues that are actually Gingerbread issues, but I'd estimate 95% of the problems on the X are BLUR not Gingerbread.

I'm not a huge Google fan, but at the same time I think they've done wonders with Android but it gets a bad reputation due to problems with BLUR.

As a follow up I do blame Google for allowing all this fragmentation. It's giving Apple a huge advantage in future development.

If the various device manufacturers would just follow AOSP then updates would fast and simple. Most of the problems would be eliminated.

So Google if you're listening please change the license and stop all this fragmentation.

I am running Apex after running a couple Blur based roms. I have had no issues with anything on this rom whatsoever... MotoBLUR just sucks...

I am even able to keep screen animations on with this rom and its still fast and bulletproof. BLUR couldn't do that. Its sad that you have to change roms to an AOSP rom to get this phone to work the way it was hyped to be...

I don't know if I agree that blur is to blame. I'm on stock gb and have 0 issues. In fact my phone is faster and better then it was on froyo. I find stock android borring. I've been on many roms and I always come back to blur. Now blur is not perfect but I like the Widgets and I can't find what I like on the market. I'm sure there are less issues with phones that are stock android. But if all android phones are stock android then there is no difference in them they might as well be iPhones. But then again more stock android phones would be good. At least there are phones for everyone and there needs.

Sense is way better than Blur. I guarantee you if you went to an AOSP rom like Apex, you would kick Blur to the curb forever...

Only thing I miss is the Blur camera and music player.

I don't think the majority of users even notice the problems. If they do, they likely blame Motorola, or Verizon. Most people don't have a clue what gingerbread even is as far as android goes
