Unlock Screen Sliders

I wanted to take my security code off of my unlock screen and change it to just the Unlock Slider to unlock my phone.

I go to Settings> Location & Security > and change the Screen Unlock Security to NONE but whenever i go to press the unlock button for my phone it just skips through the sliders and unlocks the phone completely. I've looked around and there isn't anything that allows me to toggle the sliders.

am i overlooking something? help me out guys

What button are you pushing? If your running stock, the slider should appear whenever you tap the power button to turn it back on. If the phone turns the screen off by itself, there is a brief delay to let you turn it back on without the slider?

yes i am running stock froyo but rooted.

It does it when i press the unlock button OR the home screen button. It will do it regardless for how long my phone has been idle.

Found the problem.

I had the feature turned off when i updated to 2.3. They took the ability to turn the sliders on and off in the update, therefore, i won't be able to change it unless i do a factory reset
