Getting outlook for mac 2011 to work on droid x?

Hi All,
I am wondering if it is possible to get Outlook for Mac 2011 to work on Droid X. I have been googling it and cant find an answer. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Verizon last night and no one could help me. They said they were going to research it and have a droid specialist call me at 9 am today- didnt happen.
I am really hoping this is possible. I love my new Droid but might have to get rid of it if I cant get it to work. Dont know if this matters but I have a small business and I use google as my email and send it to Outlook. Outlook makes organizing my life much easier than just using google alone.

Only way w/o an exchange server to sync Outlook is 3rd party software. Think the biggest is CompanionLink. There are some others but it's been around the longest. All said though you might be better off going with a WinMo7 phone for your use(s) if Outlook (w/o exchange server) is important.

In all honesty though I don't know what you think you can do with Outlook that you can't do with gMail?? All the folder and organization features, calendar and contact plugins are there. If you just setup your gMail as IMAP everything is perfectly ordered and changes made on one device are carried over to all your devices. I've been doing it that way for years and there is really nothing Outlook offers (even on exchange servers) that most people (outside of a LARGE organization) would find of benefit.

And works GREAT! but won't 'sync' to non-exchange (i.e. gmail) accounts which is what the OP said he was using.

True, It was not designed for that.
It's the only app that is 100% integrated to work with Exchange.
Syncs everything including notes.

Yep, saved me from having to go back to WinMo or RIM. Sadly the default Android exchange client sucks (or did at the time I was using it, don't know if they fixed it yet). TouchDown is def worth the $20 if you have an exchange account. I do wish they would adopt IMAP too though, would be REALLY NICE to have a 'universal' inbox for all my email. I think K9 can do both but it didn't meet the security requirement of my Exchange server and wasn't allowed to connect and I think K9 is only mail (no calendar?).

My work recently moved from exchange 2003 to gmail. I kept using touchdown because i like the way it does calendar alarms better and like being able to set more actions for email alerts.

Does it provide full 'sync' (i.e. moving to folders ect.) or does it just do the changes locally (i.e. on the device)?? Is this with Google's servers or is your work hosting the servers and running activesync on their end?

well then, seams it does connect. Odd though, it synced the folders I had selected but won't see anything in my 'Inbox'? Synced everything else fine though. Got to figure out the inbox (and yes the 'history' is set correctly, on mine it's 'all'). But there is a downside, TouchDown will only keep 1 account 'active' at a time (i.e. it won't check email/receive pushes) from both accounts meaning you have to manually switch between them from time to time (kind of defeats the purpose of push). Still a good solution for the OP though.

I don't think its full activesync, since i just tested moving something and it didn't follow in gmail. I have filters moving email to the correct folders, so i never noticed.

It is using google servers, m.google.com. I beleive they use it for some older widows mobile phones.

Just edited my post above, it does connect to regular gMail accounts (google runs activesync on their servers) and the Inbox finally synced (just took forever). Also TouchDown only keeps the 'active' profile active (so while I have my gMail account active it won't check my work account). Still should be good for the OP (if we can figure out the 'Inbox' bug).
