Facebook account sync

So I'm new to Android and smartphones in general, just got my DX yesterday. Anyway, I sync my Facebook account but when I try to access it through the accounts page, it doesn't have the normal options (sync contacts, etc.). It just has the username and password entries. However, after I linked the account my phonebook got updated with my facebook friends, except none of the pictures were syncing. Now after logging in and out of the normal facebook app, a few pictures have appeared but not very many at all. Has anyone else had this problem or have any idea how to fix it? Any help is appreciated.
