Probably, because all custom roms will be based off the .320/.340 software/kernel until we get a Gingerbread update for the X. So jf you are still on .315, you should probably update to .340.

So if you do anything like say semi-brick or can't boot into Clockwork Mod, then you are stuck with a paperweight until TBH releases the full SBF.

Did you update?...im still on the old kernal/ bootloader. I have "issues" if you been reading my posts you probably would know.

Do you have a nandroid backup of your device made right after the update to 315? If you do, jus do a recovery to that and either accept the OTA, or download and install the zip file of the OTA for 340.

You will lose root though, so having a copy of Z4 Root on your sd card is good.

If the 340 update messes up, Verizon will replace the device under warranty because it's an official update that messed up your device.

What is this zip file? Im on 1.8.9 runic. And no I was backing up through rom manager and it never saved. Tha only back ups I have are th ones that I made through nandroid after learning rom was not cutting it.

I was adding to the post above mine. And yes, I read your post and.understood it.completely even though it could have been worded a little better. Im just saying, if your not comfortable with cwm or flashing then you might want to stay at. 320 until an sbf is released. No need to hostility, just making sure people are informed. And yes I upgraded.

My understanding is that the full .320 sbf can be used on .340 and then upgrade back to.340

There are maybe two roms that I would change to (after risking a potential bad sbf) .....but all and all ,technically there is nothing wrong with my phone now. Looking at what the update, up dates ...im not sure if the ends justifies the means...especially for me who is pretty much tech illiterate. This is why I make these posts/ threads; so when the time comes I'll have the trouble shooting methods, feel the need, and not update just to come back to the same place that im at now. I know that soon I will HAVE TO sbf and update.....but untill gingerbread I'll just "mise en place" or get all my ducks in a row.
