new update root question

I am rooted via the z4 app. Will I have to unroot to be able to get the new update that is coming out. just unrooted and tried updating and it said the device was up to date. Pretty new at this stuff so information would be outstanding. Thanks.

if you're on a stock rom and only rooted you should be able to accept the upcoming OTA. It's not out yet anyways and may not be out for a little while. You will see it posted here when the OTA comes out for the X, if you're phone doesn't accept it you may have to unroot. My phone took the last update when i used a nandroid of just stock/rooted.

From what I have read you shouldn't have to unroot, however your phone does have to be stock meaning it needs to have all the original bloatware that came with the phone originally such as blockbuster and such. Hope this helps!
