    Verizon 4g

Will the moto droid x be able to use the 4g network or just plan on an upgrade?

This has already been answered in another thread. Please search the threads before posting a new one. It will still work 3G, but the device is not 4G capable from all logical indications. 4G will require a SIM card, and the Droid X does not have one.

In addition to the sim card it doesnt have the appropriate antenna. No phones currently on verizons lineup are 4g capable.

Best thing to do is just enjoy your current phone. LTE won't be significant for at least a year and even then, it wont be available everywhere. You have some time. When Moto is about to put out a big expensive LTE phone to replace the X you are permitted to worry.

We don't even know if 4g is going to cost more. I know that I wouldn't pay more for 4g for quite a while. If 4g just means I need to get a phone that supports it in a year or two, than I will eventually be on board for sure.

Right now I would rather have a phone that is just as fast as the DX but with better battery life, than a FASTER phone with the same battery life. The X is plenty fast, improvements need to be made in usability first IMO. Why does the default droid setup require me to go through my settings and turn off background data for me to have even -reasonable- battery life. Its a joke. Fix that first.

When I (VZW rep) scan a Droid X, 2, or Fascinate, a window pops up and says that it doesn't support a SIM card and asks if I want to continue. I'm 99.99999% positive its referring to the 4G SIM.

I will pardon your personal attack on me, and I think you need to learn proper forum etiquette.

You don't know me at all, and you have no clue what I know or don't know.

What I do know is that this has been stated over and over. 4G will utilize a SIM card, and the Droid X does not have it. There is nothing more needed to determine if the X will be 4G or not. However, it has also been stated that the antenna is not 4G compatible.

Verizon LTE will not be CDMA, the Droid X is a CDMA phone and you can't change that with software, or firmware updates!!!
