How do I turn the sounds off on this phone?

No, seriously. If I am playing a game and want no sound, I go to lower the volume, and instead of lowering the media volume, it lowers the ringtone volume?

Then I put the phone in mute mode using a widget and... games still make noise. Same with vibrate mode???

I just want to have my ringer be on vibrate and every other sound OFF

    any way to do this?

I don't know if you have an issue with the phone or not. But I just wait for the game to start then when I use the volume rocker it turns the media down.

Or go into settings ahead of time and silence the media volume.

Does your phone not have this?

You're right. Sorry. Every phone I've had in the past has turned off ALL sounds when in vibrate mode. Is there a widget that does this?

Generally speaking, if you open an app that plays sounds, such as Angry Birds, if there isnt an on screen Mute button, you can then either click the Menu button on the bottom of the phone and select Mute, or you can also use the Volume Rocker buttons to do the same by clicking the Down rocker. You can see this as well when you are playing audio files or video files as well..it shows the Media Volume instead of Ringer Volume.
