What is the long red button on the right side of the phone for?

My silicone case covers up a red metal button on the right side of the Droid X. I didn't notice it until tonight because my case covers it.

If I hold it, I get the camera. Is it programmable?

It may be obvious. I'm just a little excited I found a new button!

Enjoyed the Incredible but have moved on to a Rezound. Stock.

That's the hardware camera button and as far as I know it is not programable.

Are you rooted? It states at the top that it requires root?
