    Jawbone Icon with Droid X

Anyone have input on this combo? I have a droid x waiting for me when i get home from this trip and also just ordered an icon based on a solid review on a tech website. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the ability to use it with voice dialing etc. I've done some google searching and have seen results either way...also the ability to read text messages works or not?

I don't care about the results from the droid 1 incredible or anything but the x.

I have both the Icon and the X. I highly recommend the Icon. It works well with the X. I use the free version of Dial2do to read my text messages to me, this is a program you install both on the X and on the Icon. There may be other programs that work as well. One of the nice things about the Icon is its noise assassination feature. it is not perfect, but so far it is the best I have tried in reducing noise on both ends of the call. As far as voice dial I am not sure. I have not played with that yet. I am looking for more programs that will allow me to do more with the Icon. I don't think you can go wrong with this combo. Be sure to turn on A2DP on the Icon so it can read your text messages to you. By the way I did play with the email and calendar features of Dial2do they worked well. I just didn't need them.
Hope my droid is not a C3POS

I have the icon as well (and a mac)/ had it since the orig Droid (missing the voice dailing/announce)/ It's a good combo (although I cant get a good fit - must be I have funny ears or something...) / Once we get Froyo next month I think we'll be in great shape... My wife said I spent too much time on my Droid.
So I bought her one. End of story...

So the voice call works with the x or no? And as far as the installing stuff and getting the featured to work, it's easy to figure out with e manual?

The Jawbone Icon is the best Jawbone to date. Used the original, and liked it, except for the size. The icon is lightweight, small, and the in-ear piece actually holds the bluetooth in my ear very well. Sound quality has been good for me as well as those on the other end. Works well with FROYO on my old Nexus One, and works with Droid X out of the box. Love having my voice activated dialing back on my bluetooth headset!

Will have to check out the Dial2do. Sounds interesting.

Anyone else using an app(s) with the Icon, please share. Only thing I did was download the A2DP app (listen to music/podcasts on the Icon - Love It!).

And most definitely loving the Droid X. Having owned the Droid, the Eris, & the Nexus One, the Droid X is without a doubt the best of all worlds/devices (and glad to be back on vzw).

How about the ability to read and send text messages through the headset? I swear i read it could do that but haven't found any more info about that. Do you need to install an app from the market for the headset to work as intended?

    icon and droid x

I have an Icon which I used with my Verizon Touch Pro 2 until yesterday when I got my Droid x. Great phone superior in every way to the Touch Pro 2 but so far it does not work as well with the Icon. I am told the calls sound muffled on the other end and the voice commands sound fuzzy and faint unless I turn up the volume on the handset, which for some reason also increases the sound on the Icon. I do have A2DP loaded on my Icon but I'm thinking of taking it off and seeing if that helps. It is usable but it was nearly perfect on the TP2 and now is acting like a cheap BT headset rather than the very expensive one it is. I am a very experienced WM user but new to Android so I might have some setting issue yet to discover. Cuz.

I have both and I love the Icon so far. Voice dialing works will most the time. Sometimes, and at random, when I hold the button on the icon to activate voice dialing it instantly calls the last person I talked to. Haven't looked into that problem too closely as I figured froyo would help. Otherwise call quality and battery life and such are top notch.
