Thin, rugged case for the X

Same here. Those front buttons are back lit so they can be seen in dark situations. The commuter covers them and in low light situations ur basically guessing at which button ur pressing.

After reading these, I may go with the invisible sheild covering.I just need minimalist protection for drops. .im wondering if I should wait till I get the extended battery before I do it though, because when that stuff is on can I remove the battery cover?

Get the incipio case below. You won't find another case that is as thin while offering a good amount of protecton. Plus it looks a hundred times better then any other case out there for the droid x. If you do get this one then I would suggest to get the black and red one. I have it and it looks great. The black and black one looks too plain and dull.

Well I got the Commuter in the mail yesterday, and I hate it.

What a cheap and crappy design. I really only left it on my phone for about 2 hours before I couldn't take any more. The plug in cover just hangs out, won't stay in the ports, and drove me nuts. The plastic outer case was too slippery and I never felt like I had a good grip on the phone. Glad I didn't put the screen protector on, now I can sell it as new.

The Defender is back on.

pretty slick lookin' case. have you tried to see if it fits in any of the available holsters yet ? ... maybe an innocase holster ?

I found that Incipio case on Amazon for $22 with shipping.

I have the Kraken, the Defender, the Commuter, and the Incipio.
Kraken and Defender are both great cases that offer maximum protection, but they are too big to pocket.
The commuter is junk, plain and simple. Doesn't fit good, just a crappy case....only had it on the phone for about an hour ( which I have for sale if anyone wants to try it.)
The Incipio is a great case, very thin, still 2 layers of protection, and is easy to pocket. You have to add your own screen protector.

The commuter fits very well and it's anything but "crap". Other than the slightly slippery feel of the outer case, I don't have any idea what the negative reviews are about. Good grief.
