    3rd Party Extended Batteries

Hey Gang. My first time posting on here. I have a question:

I've seen some pretty good looking extended batteries for my Droid X for some attractive prices on eBay. However, I think I read on a thread that the extended batteries won't charge in the the actual phone. Is this true? Is there a way around this? Or do I have to invest in one of Verizon's extended batteries for more than 2x the price of the one's I'm seeing online?

    Thanks in advance!

Ebay batteries are mostly fakes. The extended battery will charge in the device.

95% of aftermarket batteries are garbage. Don't believe the capacity. A crap 2500mah aftermarket battery will probably not outlast a OEM 1500mah hour battery. I say stick with OEM legit batteries from a place you could return if it need be.

Also, I think the X won't work most aftermarket-you get an error.

+1 couldn't agree more. When dealing with batteries, get it from a company that's known or OEM. 95% aftermarket no-name batteries are pure junk. I have the oem extended. I get like 20 percent more life per day. Not a huge improvement but recommended nonetheless.

On an added side related to my previous post, I learned this the hard way about batteries. I have a macbook that needed a new battery. Saw oem for like 100 and A no name battery for 30. I went cheap and the 30 dollar battey lasted ONE charge cycle. The battery lasted 10 min per charge after that. Ugh...don't make my mistake with your X!

I have two ebay batterys they are the same size as the original. they charge just fine in the phone. i wont like they dont last as long but just to be able to carry an extra battery around it gives extra juice and for $10 bucks for two batterys and a external charge its not a bad deal.

Cool. Thanks for all of the advice. I get a 25% discounted from my job so I think im better of taking most of your advice and getting a good one from Verizon. Thanks again guys!

What software version are you running? Many batteries will not work as the phone checks to see if they are authentic.

Somethings in life you can get away with going cheap, for a tool you use everyday, batteries are not one of them.
