Themers Question and Answer.....

I don't consider myself a great themer. I am fairly new to the scene and I'm pretty much learning as I go. Everything I learned....I learned from this forum. It either had the information here or had a link to it.

So I would like to invite any experienced themer willing to join and share the knowledge they've acquired with the up and coming themers.

I will try and answer as much as I can. If I don't have the answer, I'll try and help find it.....

I am in the middle of creating a wood grain based icon set i can get the image in the text but cannot get the text the right size for the launcher pro dock and such to make it big enough and then when i enlarge it cuts off the edges. any takers on what i can do

Do a google search for apkmanager 4.8. It decompiles the apks, allows you to edit the xmls, re-compile and sign them accordingly. It's a pain in the ass to set up, but well worth it. Once I figured it out, it opened up a whole new world.

A hint to setting it up. Make certain you only have 1 java installed on your computer (The one they recommend). That was my main problem when setting it up.

I could try that i did a new custom dock background to go with the icons based off another one it was its 480x100 right now what would you suggest.?

I can't recommend without seeing it as I've never edited that. The only thing I could suggest is eyeball it. If it hangs over about 1/4, adjust it that much and see.

Part of this theming crap is that it's kind of mundane and boring. But the end results are pretty cool.

Edit: If the dock doesn't change correctly, remember that with .9's you have to get the patch correctly of it won't work/fit right.
