    Why not just crack it open, grab the images, insert in your current APK and push back? I'm just going right to that route.

    Here you go bud, I updated the theme you are using with my battery icon files. Rename the zip file I uploaded to update.zip and install. This only contains the framework from the htc status bar theme.

    I can't seem to get this working.... in metamorph it just says "please wait applying framework-res.apk theme 1 of 1" and hangs there.

    It's not locked up and I can exit and reboot but it doesn't actually apply this

    how am I screwing up?

    You are probably not doing anything wrong, sometimes MM takes a long time to make changes, especially when it comes to the framework-res.apk. Anytime I make changes to the framework like this I just pull the .apk and manually place the files in the appropriate (in this case res/drawable-hdpi) file and push it back into the system using Better Terminal
