    2.2 push/pull help

I am reading that adb remount is not working in 2.2. I would like to change a few framework files, like the statusbar but I don't want to use an entire MM change. Can anyone give me a different way to push/pull/reboot on 2.2 so that I can make some simple changes to the framework file? I will be fine with doing is on the PC or terminal emulator... Thanks!!!

Persnoally I never use adb for this

I find it more trouble than its worth.
I purchased root explorer from the market [worth every cent].
I then use that to copy any file from the phone to my sd card then I mount to my pc and do my editing. If your new to this sort of thing i'd copy from the sd card to pc just make sure you have a backup incase you make a mystake. Once you have ti down pat you can edit right on the sd card as I do.

I use paint.net to edit the png's I place into any apk im working with. Once that is done I then [in your case I'd copy the edited file back to sdcard]. Then unmount from pc. Now on your phone use root explorer again to copy the file back and overwrite the existing one. Once you paste it then long press on it and set permissions. After that a simple reboot. [I use quickboot also found in the market]. It allows to reboot, reboot to recovery, and reboot to bootloader.

    heres how permssios should look

    Droid 1 running cm10

    Droid incredible running cm7
    Nexus One running cm9
    Droid x running darkslide
    Droid x2 running cm10

    Current devices

I know that works for theming .apks, but I have heard that you need to do it a different way for framework files? Something to do with the fact that it is continuously running, Have you changed framework files like this? Thanks for the reply!!

thanks for the tip. I had already downloaded the new tools revision a few weeks ago to fix an xultimate problem but I hadn't downloaded the full platform. I have it downloading now. Will I need to make any changes to the path, or will that still be the same?

The path will be just a bit different as it will be coming form the 2.2 folder, not the 2.1. mine looks like this ( Iam win 7)...

    C:/Users/Ryan/Desktop/android-sdk-windows-2.2/tools/

Well, it looks like I put mine in the same folder as the 2.1 and it just wrote over the 2.1?? I used the updater in the setup.exe and just installed android-8 platform and I guess it overwrote the old platform. I guess if I need 2.1 later I will do a full download to a new folder....
