    Control file for boot animations

I have looked around, and I know its stuipidly small, and probably just as simple, but I have to ask.

What are the components of the control file for a boot animation that controls the speed, timing, number of frames, and so on. A little detail would be great, and helpful.

I have a couple sweet ideas, but I need to get the outline down on how to make one from scratch.

Wow, that sucks. lol I thought someone would know something about this. Or are the people that can make boot animations just lucky with the numbers in the control file?

    Code:
    480 854 40
    p 1 0 part0
    p 0 0 part1
My understand is that the first two numbers are the resolution you want to display your photos with, and the third number is frames per second.
The p denotes a new section of the code. The first number after the p determines if this set of images will loop or not (1 = no loop). Not sure what the second number is. part0, part 1, etc. specify the name of the folder to find the graphics files.

Now how does the file names/numbers work. Can they be anything, as long as the last part of the file name is a number, and they go in sequence?

What if I have 100 images, but number 56 or something is missing, will that F it all up?

How to change/create your boot animation for Droid | Mac Hack PC - Hack it all you can...

About half way down the page it describes what the desc.txt file does.
    Use it cautiously though.
Too low of a fps and BA's will look choppy. Should defintiely aim to keep it above 25-30fps.
Same thing with stretching the picture size. If you start with something too small, and stretch it too much to fit the screen and it will look like crap.

Recommend using 1 more digit than the total series of pics you have.

I.E. Lets say you have 80 pictures total.

Use the sequence like this 001.png, 002.png, 003.png etc etc etc.
If one picture is missing, it will simply go to the next highest number.

Also, from folder to folder, meaning part0 and part1, you don't need to keep the sequence continuing.
So part0 may end with lets say...045.png
part1 (the looping folder) can start using 001.png...etc etc.

i have a question about this "control file". now, i have been working on a droid x boot animation for my motorola cliq. ive done all the renaming and sizing for the pics and everything. but when i try to install it using metamorph it keeps saying something about a theme control file not existing or something like that. could you explain what this is and possibly help me make one so i can complete the boot animation?

For this, I would stay away from MetaMorph. Just use Root Explorer, or something similar, and copy your bootanimation.zip over to /data/local, or /system/media
