Changing the Phone and Contact's icon

So, this has been driving me insane. I've themed all of my icons, but I am unable to get just these 2. Whenever I try and theme either, I click the icon that Better Cut creates, and it tells me that the application is not installed?

    Help please.

I paid for this app though, I really enjoy it, and I know this is possible.

Other people have reported this issue. You're probably better off just using Anycut for the phone/contacts icon, and just using BetterCut for everything else.

Alright, how do I use it? I just tried it out and I see how to create icons, but not how to actually change the icon that it uses.

Not sure I only use better cut. Try to see if there is an Anycut option in the Add shortcut menu.

I really don't think it's possible to actually change the icon. I can't find it anywhere.

it's possible.. I would suggest using metamorph to do it:

    its in contacts.apk:

    res/drawable-hdpi/ic_launcher_contacts.png
    res/drawable-hdpi/ic_launcher_phone.png

so what you do is just make a zip file, containing an XML file called CPIcons.xml

Here is what the XML should look like:

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    <themename>Phone and Contacts Icons</themename>
    <themeversion>1.0</themeversion>
    <screenshot></screenshot>
    <author>your name</author>
    <authorweblink>none</authorweblink>
    <phone>Motorola Droid</phone>
    <rom>Any ROM</rom>
    <themedescription>Changes Phone and Contact Icons</themedescription>

    <item>Contacts.apk</item>
    <path>/system/app/</path>
    <description></description>
then create a mini directory structure. what you are doing here is telling metamorph where to dive into the apk to replace files.

so in the zip, make a folder called Contacts and in it make subfolders do the tree looks like this:
    Code:
    contacts\res\drawable-hdpi
inside the last folder (drawable-hdpi) place your ic_launcher_phone.png and ic_launcher_contacts.png

then close the zip file and all it CPIcons.zip and its done. then just move the zip file into the /sdcard/AndroidThemes directory on your phone and apply it like any other MM.

If using better cut just put the blue phone icon where you want it then go to better cut and edit shortcut go to change icon then create. I had problem with this yesterday and posted it up when i got it. Works for phone dialer and contacts.
