If using my version of the boot animation, please get from one of my threads.

There is a link just above or in my sign for mine. I can speak for my own and say they've been tested. The bootanimation.zip posted above with audio shouldn't have the audio inside the zip when installed and must be removed first. Otherwise, should work.

I'll be back later tonight to help more if needed. Back to work for now.

i have tried every way of installing this awesome boot animation on my thunderbolt, and i can't get it to work. any suggestions?

Look in /system/customize/resource for the default boot animation. Look into custom boot animations for your phone. The phone can play sound by default, so it may be best to put everything there. The boot animations themselves may require a different format though.

If you find this is the case, let me know what needs to happen and I can help you customize the animation for your phone.

that is exactly where i found the animations. downanimation.zip and VZW_bootanimation.zip.

First, let's make sure we don't delete anything (!) until you're comfortable you know what needs to be done. I know my phone but not yours. I'm especially not familiar with HTC phones.

If you can't find instructions in the Thunderbold threads, try looking it up for the Incredible and whatever works there will probably apply. You could also try opening those zips up and see which one matches the opening boot ani (certainly the vzw one.) If the format is the same, we could try just renaming bootanimation.zip to match. If that doesn't work, I could compare them if you upload your file.
