i am lil confused on how to get this started.
When i load it..i really dont see anything..
Corina, can you give me step 1 and 2 on how you started customizing this home app?

Armeddroid the best way to get started is to hit menu>>>themes then look thru the ones that are stored on the server. download and explore as many as you want. you'll eventually get a better feel for it and start customizing one of those yourself or creating your own theme.

Edit: if you'd like i could send you mine it's based more on custom pictures (i went with the look and functionality of pandahome on my current theme) for icons instead of text boxes. let me know

I have not tried Open Home but I am switching between Helix Launcher2... Android Mate... and Home++. I wish I could find a balance all in one lol, because I think I'm using up most of my memory before I even open applications on Home screens!


P.S. I have other home screens I did not mention !

Well I have not heard of Android Mate before so I am going to have to install it and give it a try. Open Home is the one that I have liked the most so far and I have tried Ahome, Pandahome, Helix Launcher (I have not tried 2 yet), and a couple others.

I've been running this since yesterday and this newest version is really saweeeeeeeeeeeeet! I don't run LWPs, but I just love the transition animations that are now built in. Love it!!!

Also, I don't know if it's BB V1.0 or the newer version of SH2, but it's loading much faster and I'm not getting any "error loading widget" errors anymore, even with Beautiful Widgets Beautiful Home (clock & weather) widget. Corina's right -- rock solid!

I've been checking this out all day and I am starting to really like it. The setup and themes took a little getting used to at first for me just because I'm used not used to it. But the options that you seem to have are amazing. I am going to keep it installed and mess around with it more when I am bored just to see what I can come up with. I can't wait to see what the final product looks like.

Really? I Love android mate whether I use it as an app or home, usually app icon on my current Home replacement. It's my hope that the next time I flash a rom, titanium backup restores my tags and applications within. That way it will be so much easier to remember where all my icons/shortcuts are to be placed next time I setup helix 2 launcher after a flash.

*EDIT* I forgot to mention I love Android Mate because everything I need is easy to get to! And not laggy at all! The internal file browser is awesome for quick to-do stuff, or hard to do stuff. I only neglect using it when I am installing apps, because I like to see larger icons of the apps I'm installing from SD card for which I use Astro, a huge icon is displayed so there is no guessing at what I'm looking at!

But dammit I wish I never found this thread because now I have to scroll down to select one of my alternative home screens. I had to keep A Sweeter Home. In addition to that I really like the simple home smaller caps theme ( did I say that right ) but I fiddled with that browser word on the top right and even researched info about it on the webernet for over an hour trying to make it load Dolphin Browser HD by default, instead of the stock browser (which is not currently set as my OS default). I tried changing the settings of the box text that said browser, the one underneath it (when editing themes) as well as one covering it (can only select them when editing themes, that is what I'm referring to). But I never found it, oh well.

I Keep having to re add my calendar widget among other widgets because they are not saved when I go to an application and back to home items gone. I'm sure this is because I've neglected to read some instructions, warnings, or fine print but it was enough to make me give up eventually and stock with Home++
