Theme stock rooted ROM

Can you theme a stock rooted ROM? My experience so far is that the ROMs are generally laggier and not as stable as the stock ROMs. The only thing that is really holding me back from using a stock ROM is theming.

Yep you can theme the stock ROM just like any other ROM. I do know changing the notification bar is a little trickier, but it's all still possible.

Awesome. Do you know if there are any premade themes out there for stock images? My favorite so far is the Nextheme. I'd love to find that for the stock image.

Thats what I am using now and I find it very laggy. I'm using 5.0.6.2 and the stock launcher. Almost everytime I go to the home screen I have to wait for my icons and widgets to populate the screen again.

Honestly the best ROM I've used so far was UD 9.8.

are you using an OC'd kernel?

im using CM 5.0.6.2 buuf theme and i don't find it laggy at all. i am using bekits 1.3 ghz low voltage kernel running at 1.25 ghz. i also have helix2 launcher installed. i find a little lag using helix2 launcher vs launcher 2 but ill live with it.

Nah, I'm not using an OC'd kernel. I assumed the OCing would make my battery life worse.

Use P3Droids 1200 kernal... if you want just set it at 800... make sure to open spare parts and set window animations to fast as well as transitions to fast.

There is no lag at all.

if you still have an issue, do a wipe and re-install....
