Live WP Theory apparently wrong. HELP!

Ok... So I have a LWP Update.zip that has the blackdroid background with only blue and silver nexus lines running over it. Thought it would look cool with a spiderman background instead. So I open the update with 7Zip and swap out the droid head png ( Named pyramid_background.png ) with a spiderman pic (Renamed to match the old background). Swapped out the thumbnail for the LWP selection menu and applied. The thumbnail preview is correct but when selected and run, I get a black screen and a force close.

My theory is that this SHOULD work as long as the png has the same name as the original. I'm thinking I have the wrong size but I resized my image to match the other background. ( Ive opened several of these LWP. apk and seen a couple of different sizes. Anyone know exactly what the size should be? ) Is it possble that there are too many colors in the png?

Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to make this work? I know there are members here that are happy to make LWPs for others but I'd like to be able to do it myself whenever the urge strikes.

Width = 480pixels Height = 427 Pixels. Image Attached

Insane... I see that you say my image needs to be within 30kb of orignal. Mine is 266kb. Is that too small? Will enlarging the image change the kb?

Cool. Thanx... But how did you change the KB without enlarging the image? Like I said, I'd like to be able to do these things later without bothering other members to help. Thanx for sharing your knowledge. I REEEEEALLY appreciate it

i took another image in photoshop and duplicated 4 times saved it.

Followed your tutorial (used image you resized for me ) and screen hangs up on LOADING LIVE WALLPAPER! Doesnt force close, but doesn't show WP either.
