Framework for cyanogen 5.0.5.7

Since 5.0.5.7 wont allow you to modify the framework-res through metamorph, could i just go in through root explorer and go to the framework-res.apk, paste my new .pngs in there and then reboot my phone? without pushing or pulling the .apk or anything?

I don't believe you can push individual files into a .apk unless using MM, but I could be wrong since I don't use root explorer.

yea, im not gonna try anymore. i was a complete idiot and almost just bricked my phone.

this is not a smart thing to do!! pull the apk out edit it then push it back!

The best way (at the moment) is via adb or an update.zip

The best way to do it is to pull the apk to your computer, rename to zip and add the files you want, then rename to apk and push back to your phone and reboot.

Lmao @ almost brick phone. That happened to me as well lol, I just tried editing framework and all it did was a boot loop, I tried also that method of copying app, and then editing and pushing it back in there and did the same thing.

You aren't unzipping the zip file are you? Just open the zip with 7zip or winrar, don't unpack it.

I need help with this also. Tried pushing it in the terminal, no luck... tried MetaMorph, no luck... I even tried using a few update.zips I had to rip apart and they just get it stuck in boot-up...

really need to use adb push while the phone is in recovery. That is the best way....pushing it in terminal while the phone is on never worked for me consistently. Maybe one out of ten would work.
