You know, all the times I thought about taking a screen shot to better convey this, usually when I'm there, I'm thinking about screenshots, but "I can't wait to see this mod work".

I'd like to also add in case it helps, you can see in the background that the read/write permissions for the individual files is displayed on the screen. Where you see "rw-r--r--" is what you want for schmod 644.

hm, i always just kept any app i wanted to modify like that plus execute for all of them too...no problems yet.

644 is normally required and recommended for .htaccess files.
