Tig you should update OP so there's no confusion for "stockers"

Root access is required and some new folks may not know.

I am curious why some (or all) of the Custom Live Wallpapers can't be made as installable "apps" like all the ones on the Market?

That way it could be installed by ALL, Rooters and Stockers :-)

Anyone know someone doing that? Or knows how? Or Will?

Come on somebody hook up us stockers up with this stuff. If I have to ask X for stuff like this it will only take away from his time making stuff (Great Stuff) for all the Rooter Dudes :-)

I believe the issue is that they're just changing the stock lwp file. I know with bb's option for different colors, you could only install one color at a time.

That being said, I'm tuning stock too, but I'd sure like to get my hands on some that I've seen. Especially this one!

Get the File here: Android2_9_LiveWallpapers.apk

1. Download the File
2. rename the file to LiveWallpapers.apk (MAKE SURE ITS EXCAT THE SAME)
3. Copy it to the SD Card
4. Open root explorer
5. Copy the LiveWallpapers.apk to /system/app
6. Acknowledge overwrite
7. Make the permisions of the file look like this

X O O

X O O

(x means a checked box)

8. Then reboot
9. Goto the Live wallpapers and select the one looking like Nexus stock (neural network)


YOU NEED TO HAVE ROOT FOR THIS!!!!

This looks great! Is there another way to put these on? I mean I have a bunch and I have to keep re-naming them LiveWallpapers.apk and copying over another one to use.

Yes. U can make any lwp into a non live version. Dl the file. Open the livewallpapers.apk. open the res folder. Open the drawable hdpi folder. Extract the pyramid_background.PNG and place on your SD card. Then open it up in your gallery. Will work for and wallpaper.

when making my own lwp..some of the background images i use just turn to a blk screen when loaded up on my phone..the file is under a mb like u said along with a png file..i dont understand why some will work and some dont..any ideas what i might be doing wrong?

Is the size of the pyramid 1024 x 1024?

im trying to use other backgrounds other than the pyramid..and not all are ranging at 1024 but around that range..
