Does Droid Support gif's?

New village idiot here.

Recently got the Droid (-love it-) as my first smart phone and I'm (really) clueless about some of the stuff regarding customization.

First off, does the Droid support gifs? I tried one as a background and it didn't work. I don't know if that was because I didn't properly transfer them to my phone or because of the Droid.

Then.. If i DO successfully manage to transfer a scrumptious image, is there any way it can be changed into the wallpaper WITHOUT being cropped?

i dont think the droid can play .gifs...i was looking for a gif of a ufc fight and it never played it, just sat there like a regular picture.

~other question: If I do ever dare to tread the line that bounds the rooted and unrooted, would it be possible to use gifs?

Yes, you can install a rom that supports animated gifs. Android currently supports regular gifs. The next android update will support animated gifs on fast enough phones. Don't know if they'd play as a home background though.
