i've tried 2 different morphs (one even made specifically for cyanogen) and neither have taken...i've morphed everything else i wanted with no problems, but the phone/dialer doesn't change..

This would be so nice! Which theme you Rockin? I've got NEXdeep..Helixlauncher theme TekHawk
Helix Dark Colors Mod + Transparent App Drawer
custom nextheme...changed what i didnt like...just dont like the boring stock dialer and dont really wanna pull phone.apk and push it back..just wondering why no phone metamorphs work..
Just so you know the dialer is contained in contacts.apk, not phone.apk
and any theme working for a DROID will work for cyanogen for the Phone.apk and Contacts.apk they are both located in the same location. so if you find a dialer you like just theme that ONLY.

ok, thanks for info guys, i just made a call for the first time after applying a couple themes last night and this is what i got..
all i applied was a phone.apk theme, guess i need to pull contacts and change it...

At least you got that...
Last time I tried to change my dialer, it totally lost all functionality and even the number grid changed...
This was with phone.apk and contacts.apk
I was not pleased, since I really wanted the Desire Rom phone theme.
pull your stock phone.apk and contacts.apk from the phone and look at the theme files im sure the file names of the images are the same no reason why it shouldn't work
EDIT: that desire Fuggs up the phone BIG TIME it seems its ment for a different device it made my buttons SMALL and I wasn't able to even press them, although contacts worked just fine
