Error: Caught FileNotFoundException while trying to open eri.xml for editing.

Do I need to manually extract files somewhere or should just running the Pulldown Editor application take care of everything??

    Thanks

    /sdcard/androidthemes/pulldowneditor

I have the same problem. Im running Koush's ESE35 build ROM I get the .nomedia error. Havent tried creating a folder yet though!

Ok made the folder as suggested and got the same error as posted above. HOWEVER I went and looked inside the folder and it had indeed made a theme file. So I tried to apply it but got an error in metamorph about the framework-res blah blah (flashed it quick so I couldnt quite read it all) it said it detected a change and to reboot but after rebooting nothing had changed.

install pulldown editor, type your text , click create MM theme.

IT WILL create the folder with-in your /sdcard/androidthemes/ folder called pulldowneditor

make sure you have a folder on your sdcard called androidthemes ie: /sdcard/andriodthemes/ if not create that.

if still not working I have no idea other than uninstall reboot and reinstall see if that helps

EDIT: after you guys get this .nomedia error did you check to see if it made the MM theme inside your /sdcard/androidthemes/ folder called pulldowneditor ?

Ok I have everything I need as i have used MetaMorph before. So the androidthemes folder and everything is there. I got the .nomedia error first time trying to use it. So then as you suggested I unistalled rebooted and reinstalled. Same result, so then as suggested again I created my own pulldowneditor folder inside the Androidthemes folder. (and just to clarify no nothing is in the androidthemes folder when i get the .nomedia error) This time it gives the other error (something about xmi.w/e) So just for giggles I go and look at the pulldowneditor folder I made and there is now a /nomedia file and a .thm file. So I go to apply and got the other errors I mentioned above all of this resulting in absolutely no change at all. hope this is clear Im just gonna wait for him to do the update.zip method he might work on.

Phone shouldn't automatically reboot, MM says something along the lines of "I detect a system altering change has been made, want to restart?"

Which version of this are you using and what ROM are you running on your phone?

I also had good luck with the 1.1 version on ESE53. I see version 1.2 is out now, haven't tried it.

ok, I was having the same issue as alot of ppl seem to have. giving me that nomedia thing when I tried this out. heres what I did to work around this issue

First! open up androidthemes on your SD card and make a new file called PulldowndownEditor

second, open up the app Pulldown Editor and hit extract needed files, then type in what you want it to say and hit generate. at this point it will give you another error like cant find file or something. this is ok. now go back in to the file you made in androidthemes called pulldowneditor and you should see a nomedia file and a .thm.

next what you do is this, and this is the key! copy your framework-res to your computer. extract it, delete everything in there but the res file. open up the res file, delete everything in there but the xml file, open that up and delete everything in there but the eri file,. so it should look like this, Framework-res> res>xml>eri. take that framework file and place it in the pulldowneditor file on your SD card in the androidtheme file

next, go BACK in to the app pulldown editor, extract needed files, type in your message and generate. at this point it SHOULD work

go in to MM, hit existing theme, find pulldowneditor, open it up, hit the .thm. then framework and apply. if you do this right, it should work! ya its not as ez as just opening up an app but it works! and should only take a few mins at best

This app was easy and made the text change very simple. . . so simple in fact that it gave me time to go to paypal and donate to the dev

I can't get this app to work and it is driving me crazy

    Running 2.1 BB v.08 & Chevy01's 5-slot 1.1ghz kernel with SmokedGlass theme.

I have MM and PullDown editor installed. Everything works fine, until I hit the apply button; I know I am supposed to be prompted for a restart - my phone restarts without prompting. When it comes up, nothing changes obviously. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling PullDown editor and clearing all PullDown editor data with no success. When I look at the eri file generated, it does seem to have my text included. Any suggestions?

On a side note, where do you get the driver (dev) for the Droid? ADB is not seeing my Droid so I am unable to try it another way.
