    Need help theming a DROID X and ROOT

    Hello, I have a droid x and I am interested in rooting the phone and putting custom themes on it. I have a little knowledge of what to do but would love if someone would walk me through it.


    MY yahoo is stuj2010, add me and we can go from there.

    get z4 root. just search it and that helps you root pretty easily. to get a theme, you should be on a custom rom. much more choices in way of themeing. i reccommend liberty for dx. look those up and that should get you started.

    If I root my phone, will I loose anything of importance?


    So from my understanding I should root my phone, then get a custom rom and then install the theme.

    rooting wont delete anything. it will void your warranty i believe if you are on verizon. its custom roms that wipe your data. rooting doesnt.

    not too bad. you will want titanium backup, koush's bootstrapper(make sure you get the one for the X), and the rom files you need.
