Transparency on Froyo pulldown

I am having trouble getting transparency on a Froyo pulldown. I know my images are tranpsarent, but they dont show up transparent when i flash them. I was sent a pulldown animation to try out and when i flashed that, the pulldown is transparent. it did have the animation with it, however. Now this would work except for the animation is causing the phone to reboot everytime i long press the home button. Anyone got ideas to fix the animation or keep the transparency without having the animation?

The only difference between these two files is in the xmls to add the animations. I dont know how to edit xmls and this is over my head. so i figured i may need some help with this one. if anyone has some ideas, they are greatly appreciated.

Its are d2g's!
I took an transparent image from my d1 and put it on the d2g, and it didnt work.
So your not doing anything wrong!
It might be in a xml, but im not certain...still looking into it
