    Nerd,

I have had the best luck by extracting the zip files on the pc, then copying the extracted theme file to the sd card theme folder. Then "pick a theme" in MM.

    Soder,

The best way to trouble shoot the themes is to pull/copy the appropriate .apk from your phone to the pc. Rename to xxxx.zip, and extract the contents. Then you can go through the themename.thm file (Notepad++) and see what it is trying to replace. Open up the res/drawable folder in the extracted theme, and do a side by side comparison to check that the folder/names paths correlate exactly, and that the names of the images (.png) correlate exactly between the theme files and the files pulled from the phone.

This really is the best way to troubleshoot, as depending on which .apk you are trying to theme, you could have a slightly different version than what the theme was built around.

ok, I tried that. I select "transparent" in m.m. it then goes to two files "drawable-hdpi" and "drawable-land-hdpi" open either of those and it just says no files. arghhhh. I want the status bar to be transparent oh so badly.

    Nerd,

Give this file a try. I am running a 2.1. Extract the zip file, and move the transparentstatus bar directory to your mm theme file. It should install via existing theme. Please back your phone up first. This is the mm file I use, and it is completely clear.

didn't do what i want it to do, but i think what i want to do is impossible.

i'm running the droidinatorv6 theme. i want to keep the android battery icon, but i want to background to be transparent. does anyone know any way to do that? the more i'm playing with everything it looks like i would need an entire framework file that has everything i want already in it which is a bummer.

    Nerd,

The file I sent should have not affected anything but the status bar background. I see that what you want to do is mod an existing theme. If you'll give me a link to the droidinator theme, I can take a look at the theme and see if I can find the file that needs updating.

    Nerd,

I found the droidinatorv6 file and I am downloading it now. I will take a look to see if it can be a simple replacement of the status bar png file into your existing theme. I'm a little new to throwing a theme onto a theme.

The zip file I attached is simply another mm theme file that should only change your status bar. I did not know that you already had a theme going. As my file does change the reswork, it would be better for me to look over the droidinator to see if I can pull the correct file from it's structure. I should be able to make it clear, and send it to you. You would then replace the file in your current theme folder on your sd card with the new file, and retheme. In theory.

My download is taking forever right now, but I am on it.

    Edit: For Nerd

Attached is a zip file containing 4 png files. This theme appears to have multiple status bar files going on, so I made the 4 obvious ones clear. What you need to do with these files is replace the ones in your existing theme on your sd card, and reapply the theme. If you are applying the theme via zip, then you will have to open (not extract) the zip file in one window, open the files I have attached in another, and drag them into the theme zip file under framework-res\res\drawable-hdpi. If your theme is already extracted on your sd card, then you can just cut and paste them in. Then reapply the theme in mm. I would try the statusbar_background.9.png file first, and see if this is what you are after. Then the others, if not.

But first, make a spare backup of your droidinator file on your pc, so you do not corrupt your only version. And absolutely make a nandroid before trying these. And lastly, let's take this to pm for further "stuff". I think we have trashed this thread enough. And, if you were sitting here beside me this would be a snap. It's hard for me to see what is going on on your phone, and to know exactly what you are trying to get.
