in command prompt of the adb tools directory paste/type

adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local

reboot and bask in the glory of your new bootanimation. you hacker you

if you dont like it, and want to hurt my feelings, run this to remove

adb shell
rm /data/local/bootanimation.zip

bootanimation.zip

also, i noticed something funny when creating this bootanimation.

i accidentally renamed all my .png mimetypes to .jpg, zipped it up and pushed it over to my phone. android still recognized all the files and executed the animation.

im pretty sure we have the linux kernel to thank for that

I'm not big at all on using adb - which reminds me of DOS prompts, So...
Could I just take the file, zip it and name it bootanimation.zip, place it at the root of my SD Card and, using Root Explorer, move it to data/local? That's the way I've always installed boot animations before.

I have a simple question can a boot animation from a MOTOROLA DROID be used on DROID X ? IF anyone can reply please do cause Im tired of looking in search for this answer .

You might be able to use it but the size would be off. If i was you I would try some evo boots. I have used boot animations from other devices with no problems but I make sure the screen is the same size or bigger

I've got a question all. I'm pretty good at using my Root Explorer and definately have no problem installing boot animations. But when I download files like this one, directly to my phone while using Tapatalk, where does it go?

Downloads fine with progress bar then gives option to open or hit ok. I hit ok and then can't find file.
