Moto Droid 1 Rooted Cyanogen 6.0
Hi all,
HELP. I rooted my Droid last night with the Z4 easy root. I am a newbie and really have no idea what I'm doing but I wanted to root my phone since I see all of these cool themes and the capabilities the Droid can do.
This being said, I downloaded the Cyanogen ROM 6.0 and now I'm stuck. I don't understand all of the jargon about SD cards, where to download things on my Mac and then copy it over to my Droid. I lost my APP market icon and have no idea how to get it back. I also lost all of my apps so now I'm stuck. I was able to get my gmail contacts which is great but I also have a verizon email account and I want to have two mail icons for each account.
If anyone has some time, can you walk me through how to get the app icon as well as the features of the Cyanogen ROM?
Thanks so much!

I believe you might have already reverted to stock by now, if this is the same jeter10 from the other site.
[my opinion]Real quick if you don't understand how to download files to your MAC and transfer them to your phone's sdcard, then it may be just as well you have left well enough alone. Usually it is best to have a fair understanding of how to download and transfer files around on your computer (no matter whether a pc or mac or linux), to and from your phone's sdcard, etc. before you try to tackle a job like rooting and flashing roms to your phone. A fair amount of reading and understanding the jargon first is usually the best medicine.[/my opinion]
However, the quick fix would have been to download the cyanogenmod rom via ROM Manager while hooked up via wifi. Before it would download it will ask if you want "gapps", yes is the correct answer. Then once it's done, another window will pop up asking if you want to wipe data/cache and make a backup. Both options should be selected. And that is all.

Thanks very much. Yes, I'm the same Jeter10 as the other site and I did revert it back to stock. I'm very familiar with file maintenance with programs such as all Microsoft products but not familiar with copying files to my Droid. I'll read up on this and then use my PC instead of my Mac since the Mac is new and I'm still learning every day.
And, of course, I'll back up my Droid first.
Thanks so much for the help.
I'll let you know how I do.
