i keep getting failed on the status and my phone keeps going into bootloader????

I got that too once. What finally worked for me was re-downloading the sbf again. Don't know why, but it did.

After flashing with RSD, after shutting down and before the phone begins reboot, hold the dpad up button. It should give you OK. I really think that if you reboot after the failure message, you will be fine.

Good point, don't forget to "catch the boot".

yea i did hold down the up on the d-pad but i still get fail
