I don't know which version of Wireless Tether for Rooted Phones you have, but I would delete it and get the latest version from here: Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code
Good luck.

What phone are you running? Did the new version of the app fix the issue?

Ok to bump this for a few days old ihave same issues.
I have wifi tether...you know...the popular one.
I have original Droid. I'm running the most recent version.
It won't turn off. Even if I get it to not show on my phone, any computer nearby shows it as an active connection....and yes I press it to stop.
Rebooting the phone is usually a good quick fix for alot of ails as well . . .
Which one is the popular one? The one from the code repo? Barnacle? The one from the market? What version is it? Is it a themed version?
Much like what phone you have, it does help to tell us what version you have. We're geeks. If we knew what was popular we wouldn't be geeks, now would we?![]()
