I have the same problem on my ATT Samsung Infuse 4G (rooted, stock browser): When I am logged into my google account and viewing the google mobile homepage, the page keeps refreshing in a loop about once per second.

I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and also went into Apps manager and deleted all data associated with the Web Browser. Has anyone made any progress on figuring this out? For now, I just switched to the classic view, but that's only a work-around, not a fix.

I have a Samsung Galaxy SCH I500 (the original Galaxy) and it's doing the same thing. I have never used google chat, I have minimal apps on my phone (maybe 8 or 10 that I use), and I've only ever had the stock browser.
I also did the settings-applications-manage applications-ALL tab-browser... then cleared the storage data and the cache.
No Joy. Still refreshing every three or five seconds.

Changing my homepage to https://www.google.com/search?q=+ worked so that's good enough for me.

    ... for now anyway...

Cool, I'm glad that my suggestion at least alleviated the issue.

    - Go to classic mode
    - Go incognito
    - Use chrome
    - If u enter google image search signed in, it wont refresh either
    - sign out
    - dont set ur home page to google

theres tons of bypasses, but which none are solutions.
Should I apologize or would you prefer that I just delete my post?
Did you know that most Android web browsers spy on you? Not only is it a violation of privacy, it wastes battery power, bandwidth, and slows your device. Check out a free, ad-less, full-featured, fast browser that does not spy or monitor in anyway: Naked Browser in the Google Play Store. I made Naked Browser in response to the privacy violations of apps like Dolphin, Boat, Ninesky, Miren, and others. Naked Browser is a not for profit app.

why would you need to apologize or delete your post? Did you do something wrong?
I'm just stating these are just work arounds (incase you think the problem is completely gone) and i'm waiting for a true solution, that's all.

I was being sarcastic. I know I didn't do anything wrong. It's just that the tone of your post--from my perspective--made it seem like I had inconvenienced you. This is off-topic at this point and I was just making a joke so I'm willing to drop it.

I created an account to reply to this thread.

My wife is having the same issues:

    • Google Home Page continuously refreshing when her browser is logged into her Google account.
    • I "cleared all" in the settings of the browser with no success.
    • I cleared cache and all data in Android's app settings. Also no success.
    • When logged out, the browser works fine.

My wife and I have the same phone, and I am not experiencing this issue.

I went into the browser on my phone, and signed out of my Google account, and then signed into her account. My browser began to experience the constant refreshing issues that her browser exhibited. Signed out of her account and back into my account, and the problem was gone. (Note: when I did this, I did not change the google account in Android's "Accounts and Sync" menu. I only signed in through the menu in the top right corner of the Google page in the browser)

I went into the browser on her phone, and signed into my Google account. No issues. I signed out of my account and back into her account, and the problem returned. Signed out again and the problem is gone.

So in summary: 2 identical phones using the same browser. Both phones experience the problem when the browser is logged into my wife's Google account. Neither phone experiences the problem when logged into my Google account, or when not logged into any Google account.

This issue has to be with some setting within the Google account (online, not anywhere on the phone). I've been searching through her account settings both in GMail's and at https://www.google.com/settings/account?ref=home but I can't identify a culprit.

    Same problem

The exact same issue started happening to my wife's Verizon Galaxy Nexus running 4.1.1 with the stock browser in the last few days. I have tried clearing the cache and even app data. The latter worked for a couple of minutes. If anybody figures out a solution, please let us know. Since it seems to have just started for everybody, maybe Google's servers caused the problem.
