Maybe we should rename this thread "My Droid RAZR Hates Me."

No that is not normal (I know you knew that). Did you figure out why?

No. I'm in the Keys and won't be home until Saturday. I tried getting some tools at RadioShack, but they didn't have a T3 Torx for sale. I was going to ask if they had one in the back (they replace screens at this store) but the manager was a prick. She slapped the tool kit they had in my hands and walked away.

I am kind of pissed because there's no good virtual soft key apps that I can download without being rooted. I got one called "smart actions" and only the home button works. Back just closes the stupid task bar and goes back to the same page I was on. Menu is the app's menu. Absolutely worthless.

Well my phone decided to fix itself... the soft keys are spastic now though. They'll randomly activate like someone is hitting them really fast. I think it's Steve Jobs' ghost trying to get me to buy an iPhone.

Are you anywhere near the Bermuda Triangle? That sounds like spooky stuff. I wonder if the salty ocean air is causing corrosion problems inside the phone.

That would be a good explanation... the salty air shouldn't have anything to do with it though. My dad's RAZR MAXX didn't do anything stupid. I guess I'll see what's up when I get home tonight.

Well I came to the conclusion that swapping batteries a couple times pulled up on the little plate over the digitizer/LCD/soft key ribbon connectors, and the feet on the backside were no longer touching. I took the phone apart and bet those feet back and it's working flawlessly again.

Heeey Dude There Is no need to buy a replacement all what u have to do is :
I follow advice from forum in my country (indonesia), and it works like a charm!
if you want, please do this following :

    1. Pull out your battery
    2. wait until 5 minutes.
    3. insert your phone into bag of plastic
    4. Wrapp it up, and make sure that water will not enter to that plastic bag
    5. Put your phone into refrigerator in freezer area, all night long
    6. in the morning, grab you phone
    7. wait until 30 minutes, make sure every water from condesenation is clean by dry tissue
    8. insert your battery
    9. Turn on your phone
    10. see magic happen

It works for me, i hope i works for you also.
    Best Regards
