busted screen, your thoughts?

while im waiting on my replacment, i thought i would post pictures of my screen to see what everyones thought are on maybe what happend. the outside has no cracks, dings, dents, scratches, nothing. it is like new but yet there are 4 cracks under the glass.

Looks to me like a stress fracture from being bent. This is why I am kinda leery of thin phones. Must have been bent bad too...It takes a lot to crack Gorilla Glass.

Inherent issue with a thin phone that's got no frame... its all chips and glass and tape... a little metal.. not much.

The glass is cheaper to replace than the amoled screen.. if that's any consolation.

well i wont be carry this phone in my pocket no more. i was wearing wind pants the day this happend

Gorilla glass is quite flexible and is still intact on that phone. A slight bending pressure is all it takes to crack the lcds glass, which is exactly what looks like happened here. Just curious, do you keep your phone in your back pocket?

no i had went to get my pizza so i put the phone in my front pocket, i was wearing wind pants so the pockets are pretty loose. it was fine at the pizza place while i was sitting at the drive thru, cause it was in my console and i had sent a text out. then came home, i plugged it in and sit it on my bed, and about 20-30 minutes later i went to reply to a text and saw those cracks. im not sure what happened to be honest. Verizon said it was physical damage and wouldnt warranty it.

Yeah it's BS that as soon as Big Red sees cracks they immediately say physical damage. Maybe you sat on it by accident while it was on your bed or something, who knows. Don't forget if you're rooted to backup everything to the sdcard-ext to make the transition to the new phone much easier. If you're not rooted, get rooted lol.

it wasent rooted, it was only 2 weeks old and this happens. i cant tell if its off or on due to the screen is dead.

Maybe you could use an HDMI cable to at least wipe the phone.
