busted screen, your thoughts?

Gorilla glass is quite flexible and is still intact on that phone. A slight bending pressure is all it takes to crack the lcds glass, which is exactly what looks like happened here. Just curious, do you keep your phone in your back pocket?

Nooooo...I do not understand why people do that. Mine is in my front pocket, glass facing toward me.

Inherent issue with a thin phone that's got no frame... its all chips and glass and tape... a little metal.. not much.

The glass is cheaper to replace than the amoled screen.. if that's any consolation.

You cannot replace one or the other with these newer display assemblies. I tried. The glass and amoled display are fused together from the factory and are just about impossible to separate.

i know i couldn't resist, i went and got it activated and now putting ICS on it. lol

well my replacement has been crap. when i plug it in to charge, i cant use it, it goes nuts. now it will not make a call or receive calls. 5 resets, 3 factory restores hasent helped. now im waiting for assurion to send me another one, what gets me is this was a brand new phone not a CLNR.

That sucks. When I got my brand new bionic it did the same thing. Hopefully the replacement will be ok. Good luck!!

thanks. i got the new one in today, (im suprised i got another new one) and it came loaded with ICS.. the last 2 i got i had to update to it. maybe this is it.
