You're absolutely right about not letting the battery die and not applying power to a wet circuit...but I think I'd go with the let it dry first and take my chances that the battery will not drain so low that it can't be charged. You're right though...it's a tuff call. The factory cable would certainly be a great accessory at that point.

I tend to agree with jpcalhoun... you have a much better chance of recovering the battery than recovering fried electronics.

And an excellent suggestion, justin... I think I may order one of those for safety sake.

i have 2 of the factory data cables from the TBH days. never have used them :/ its kinda like insurance.. rather have it not need it than need it not have it

The fact of the matter is this.. yep, you can suggest letting it stay in a bag of rice or a dry out kit for 2 days... but let's face the facts, without a factory charge cable, you're gonna be in trouble.

If the phone is froze, then its going to chew through your battery very quickly...

So do you charge and keep the battery and charge circuits at operable levels?(if it will charge)

Or do you let it dry out not plugged in? Yes common sense says let it dry out.. but that isn't always a viable option for people. This phone is just hard to mess with.. lol

if you didin't tank the battery out IMMEDIATELY after you dropped it in the water, the chance of it being recoverable is minute.

plug your device in because you can't replace the battery...

or perhaps, keep it out of the water?

Also, if you're going to try an alcohol bath, use isopropyl 90%. :thumbup:

If you can't get 98%.. then yeah i'd use that... I commonly see 90%
