The only problem i have with the internal storage I'd that it's supposed to be 16 gig, but half of it is jammed up with factory crap. Lol.
I'd like to thank you all for your tips/input on this thread. Huskur, I'd like to thank you also for the two links you provided.
So I tried both links and wow, not only did I find deleted files, but I learned that my sd card is a pretty much browsing history tool. By that I mean there were nearly 10,000 jpg files (thumbnails, pix, vids, etc) on the card. Some of which were images I deleted since the first time I got the SD card. Other images were from websites I visited. The sd card recovery tool scanned the entire card which took about 3 hours. I couldn't recover anything unless I paid for one of the software tools so I did that and I was able to reclaim many of my deleted images back. I didn't get the chance to see every file. As I said, there were about 10,000 files. The files didn't have the original names, so it wasn't easy to get the correct jpg files. But the recovery tool did its job.
So now my question is, are files truly wiped off the sd card? Reason why I am asking this is because I'm wondering if the files that I deleted are just hidden. And if they are, how can I permanently delete files I don't want? There were many images from profiles pages, websites, etc, that I don't want. Does anyone have any idea how to remove them? The tool did not have an option to delete these files.
First of all, I'm glad you were able to recover your files. Second, there was a recent news report in my area showing how easy it was to garner information from an android device that had been "wiped clean" the IT expert who advised on the report said that IOS and BB did a good job of erasing files but android left a ton of infomation on the drives and you didn't need to be a genius to recover it. His advice was to never sell your old phone, he advised keeping it as a backup or destroying it. The return wasn't worth the risk to personal data. I'm no expert, so I could he could be wrong, I'm only repeating what was on the news.
I have found that unless the SD card is being given to a member of my family I will just destroy it. Anything that is deleted can be recovered to an extent. I see that even more now after the shooting in Aurora. They are recovering deleted files of the hard drives of the shooter. It's unbelievable what can be done in data recovery.
As for your question about files being just hidden.....the SD card does have a limit. If they kept everything that ever was saved on them they would have to be monsterous in size. Newer files replace older files as needed.....of course that is just my theory.
That might be true, but as I said, there were files that I remember having when I first upgraded to a droid device. Not so sure if old files get replaced but 16GB is a lot of space to begin with. I had this SD card for about 3 years or so. My main question, is there a way to completely remove those other files. I'm guessing by formatting the sd card?

You can reformat and delete the files.....that may do it. Just make sure that you do the long format. There is quick and standard. Try both.
