I'm using DroidTV, an app I found in the Amazon App Store. $8.99 initial cost to download, and $6 every six months, with lots of current shows I love to watch and usually miss. This acts like a DVR of sorts, and I love it. Yes it costs money but I feel its worth it, and the quality is good!

I use Remote Media CENTER to watch all my DVR'd stuff(I can effectively watch live TV by scheduling a recording). I also have HBO & epic apps.

    It says it's full HD-480P, that's SD.

I have a Monsoon Volcano (its a cheaper version of a slingbox) their app is $12.00 and you stream live TV to your phone. Works great over 4g and wifi even works fine with 3g. The box is under $100.00 on their website. If using 3g or 4g a unlimited plan is a must.

I tested droidtv, seems to take for ever for a schedule to start. And the 200mb+ of accumulation to the SD will add up quick.

2 thumbs down on this app. Good concept, but I could just d/l on my PC(from undisclosed locations) then use motocast to stream.

Moving on to remote media for testing ..

Remote Media Center is only good if you use a HTPC. It requires Remote Potato to be installed on a PC & then gives you access to what files you want to stream. On top of that if you use WMC it gives you access to it's guide and record schedule.

Remote Potato does a really good job at streaming video files so even if you don't have a setup for it's DVR functions it's still one of the best options for streaming your personal content by giving you high quality stream without the need to reencode prior.

Sling box or similar is are good to get access to your home DVR/STB if you don't have/want a HTPC.
