i got a razr from a rooted rom'd X and I love it. I rooted it but left the rom stock. battery life seems fine to me. i plug it in while driving but i use it alot.

You really should look through the threads that are already here in the forum. All of the answers to your questions are already here, and are all discussed at great length. Just on the first page alone, only a few posts down, are threads on ICS and battery life. You'll also learn a lot more about the phone that will help with your decision.

I made the same switch from x to razr, i love the razr, mirror mode is great, 4g is fast, and even 3g is faster on the razr then the x,i still us my x on wifi, can't see selling it.
O my battery last all day no complaints, (heavy user)
