    Juice Defender messing with data?

Verizon told me Juice Defender can screw with my ability to get a data signal. I was having issues with my data before, but after a sim swap, things are fine. Just curious is anyone has had issues. I miss the extra battery life and would like to reinstall the app.

    Thanks.

I believe the rep may have miss led you or miss-communicated what he was trying to say. Yes, Juice Defender can prevent you from getting data, but only if you set it up that way, one of the ways it helps save your battery is by turning off some or all push services or by turning off data when the phone is inactive after a certain time, again you won't receive push notifications and apps/services will have to be updated manually.

I am not a fan of the app cause I rely on a lot of push updates from my apps/emails/etc... so if you're the same way, ditch it. If you don't care about receiving push updates and just like to manually update things whenever you feel like checking them, then its your call on the app.

I think that's like saying Smart Actions can screw with your ability to get a data signal. Yes, you can have JD control how frequently you access data, turn off connectivity to save battery life, etc. But by itself there's nothing about it that messes with your system. It's in how you have it set - you can have it be on all the time if you want or with various other schedules or dependent on certain conditions.

I use JD and have no problem at all.

Not sure I would term it "messing with".

JD has options to control the hardware to save power. For example if you turn your display off and there are no ongoing transfer/connections then it will basically turn off the 3g/4g, until you need it again. Sometimes I do see a delay, if I turn on the display the 3g/4g may not come up fast enough. There are options in JD to tune this sort of thing. Although you may need to pay for the full version which I did.

Using JD and Smart actions I routinely get 16 plus hours without needing to charge. I usually still have 30% or more left by the end of my day of "NORMAL" use.

The reason you are using JD is to allow it to do some default things to save your power.

Wow!!! Would you mind sharing the settings you use for JD? I have mine set at Balanced but not sure if that is helping it or making it worse.
