One can explain without sounding degrading to another. If its explained, and OP is still annoyed by it, then you move on.

The phone only shows storage available to the user.
It is in fact 16GB of storage on the phone with 8GB for OS and system.
You cannot use it, so the phone's OS will not show it.
That is how ALL Android devices are.
This was actually mentioned prior to the phone being released. I think I read about it on AC.
Besides, I didn't make my purchase based on the amount of available memory.

I agree that it's clear that the RAZR has 16GB onboard, but it's a little disingenuous to advertise it as having 16GB of storage space. It should be more like, "8GB storage, 2GB app storage, and a MicroSD card slot to expand your storage up to 32GB more!" or something. The memory is there, so it's not fraud; but it is pretty darned misleading.
Here's hoping Moto unlocks the bootloader in ICS and we can have custom ROMs that don't have the webtop portion partitioned out for those of us that don't use the feature.
