Can confirm that the fast boot file works. I was very frustrated when I couldn't update to 748. Learned my lesson, staying stock/rooted until there is a REALLY good ROM that's built for Razr/ICS.

Ummm...i got a quick question on what exactly does the fast boot files change when ones rooted?

The fastboot files will take the device back to fresh out of the box state. Then you can update then reroot.
EDIT: Using RSD Lite. I only used 5.5 and 5.6. I don't know if older versions work.
EDIT: Also put the zip on the drive that RSD is installed on. On my setup here it failed every time when I had the zip on either of my two data drives. When I moved the zip to the root of my C drive it went perfect.

I had problems taking the upgrade as well. Did nothing but root, bootstrap, and CWM on boot. I flashed a stock ROM zip, got the update, cleared cache, factory reset, re-rooted, CoB again, restored data from backup, Viola.
