I regret to inform that my battery life got worst with 215 :-( I got a new phone because I fried the battery on my original one. With the refurb I was getting excellent battery life! Saturday I was at 12hrs with 2½ of screen time and had 30% left in the tank. That same night I installed 215 and cleared cache. Battery life is not good :-( it is now reaching 20% with less than 2hrs of screen time. Do I need to do another drain charge with phone off cycle?

Had a similar experience with .215 i was able to restore it with a series of battery training sessions (aka foxkatting), cache clearing, and an FDR. My .215 battery life is no better than .211 but i got it back to the same.

OK when you guys the battery training, do you turn off the phone when it hits 10%, boot into recovery, clear cache, reboot then turn off the phone again and charge to 100%? Do you clear cache both days? Or just the first day?

I don't know that clearing the cache is part of the battery training, but it wouldn't hurt anything i don't think.

LMAO... that is funny! I bet there is not much that Matty has not tried. Matter of fact, I bet his bucket list is pretty short... only cuz he has just about tried everything already!

It's not, i've gone over the foxkat tut a few times now and clearing the cache hasn't seem to do any good at least for me anyway but i've read otherwise. skipping all of that and doing a FDR as soon as 1.8 is done downloading and i can get rooted again. hopefully this will solve my battery issues. i feel like i own an iPhone with the battery life im currently on.

Call Verizon and tell them it's not holding a charge. They'll a replacement
I got fed up with trying to get mine to get decent battery life and nothing worked. FDRs clearing cache foxkat tutorial... nothing! The refurb got way better life. Better than what I was getting before. Now onto the training for the 215 build.

As joshxdroid said, clearing the cache is not part of FoxKat's battery calibration. Battery calibration, clearing cache, and performing a FDR all separate actions that members have reported improved the operating time of their battery. Doing each one can possibly help, and doing all three will give you the best chance of improving your phone's operating time between charges. The battery holds a set amount of stored energy. The calibration ensures you have access to this energy. The clearing of the cache and FDR help your phone more efficiently use this energy.

I personally would not tinker with the phone once it reaches 10%. I did this once (finished reading e-mail or texts or something like that) and then saw it read 5%. I thought it would be a good time to do a battery calibration because it was so low. The power required to turn the phone off dropped it below safety shut-off level, and the phone would not power back up. This was the second time running the battery too low happened to me (embarrassing to say ), and it is not fun recovering.

djspy, may be right. If you have gone through the foxkatting, fdr-ing and cache clearing without any better results, then a replacement phone may be in your future... But do those things first because replacement means refurbished and usually they are like brand new but not always.

Well im pretty sure the fdr and meter training did the trick. Underclocked to 1 gig and 300-600 when screen is off... im at 80% at 5 hours on battery with moderate use
