Okay, I know I have posted already, but I'm hoping that someone sees this and has an idea that I have not already tried.
Very simply, I can not reset or format my phone. I do not want to save anything, in fact all I want to do is start all over again. Something is really wrong with the phone as it won't let me install/uninstall any apps. It will say that it has completed the uninstall, but after I reboot, the apps are back again.
Also, I have tried to format the internal SD card through Windows. Yes I know, this is not where the OS is located, but even when I format the SD card, when I restart the phone, everything comes back again.
I have not rooted my phone, and I used the standard OTA update to 173.
I have tried to:
* Do a factory reset from the privacy settings - when the screen came up with the triangle, I did wipe data/cache and format. This took about 2 seconds, and finished, but when I reboot it goes back to the same system I had prior to formatting. As if it did nothing.
* Done a factory reset by holding all three buttons on the side (power, vol up, vol dn), then scrolled down with vol dn and selected the Restore selection, pressed vol up to select, then when the triangle shows, hit BOTH volume buttons together and I went to the restore section. I then did the exact same as above.
* Used Droid Razr Utility - Tried doing option #1 - everything seemed fine, but then when it booted back up again, it went right back to the same system I had before as if nothing was done.
* Tried downgrading by doing install from SD Card - This seemed like it had potential, but got 80% of the way through and said it had an error and then aborted. When I restarted it went back to the prior OS.
I realize that I may be SOL, but before I call or go to a Verizon store, I wanted to try everything else. Plus I don't particularly want to give them my phone with all of my data on it.
