RAZR's motion sensor while on a call is not working?

When I first got the phone, the RAZR would detect when I was on a call with someone and the screen would turn to black to save battery. But now when I am on the phone with someone, the screen stays on and then the 'end call' interface freezes up or disappears.

Any suggestions?

No screen protector, just a case I got at the verizon store.

ok try this. wipe the glass clean, especially near the censor (top left of screen.) reboot the phone.

Now go ahead and make a phone call to someone that can just sit on the phone and say nothing Don't put the phone up to your ear just let them pick-up. Take your hand and wave it over the top left of the handset slowly. See if it detects it and shuts screen down.
