Stock email program settings?

My D1 would check my POP email account & pull messages down. Once I checked the account on my desktop (set to delete messages from server) then those messages would disappear from my D1.

The stock mail app on the Razr seems to be keeping a copy of the messages instead of being a true sync of what is on the server at that time.

Anyone know a way to make it act like the email on my D1 did? I don't like the idea of having to go and delete messages manually or remember to empty a growing trash folder.
