At work my razr searches for a signal and it sucks my battery. I need to receive calls in case of an emergency. Can turn something off and still receive calls somehow?

If you don't have service, you can't receive calls. It's that simple.

Go into smart actions
Trigger
Display--off

Cellular Data--disable
GPS--off
Background--off
This set up will allow you to get phone calls and text messages. What it will do is shut off the searching for a 4g-3g signal. Once you turn on the screen it will pick up the 4/3g signal and it will go back to normal. I have only done this for one day but my phone lasted yesterday for 14 hours adn was down to 27% battery left. Medium use, ie: phone calls, several text messages, facebook and other web browsing and a couple of games.
I turned background data off at work and it helped.
